And if we do not protest in the strongest terms about what is being done in our name, then we become complicit. There is no third option. The official has been consulted by Cuban authorities on matters such as migration negotiations and Washington offers of aid in the wake of hurricanes, and has been the recipient of their criticism of U.S. policies and practices, according to a diplomatic cable obtained by McClatchy:
One cable noted that a top Interior Ministry counter-drug official had complained that U.S. cooperation on drug interdictions was "often one-sided" and that Cuba wanted to work more closely with U.S. officials in sharing information about trafficking in the region.
Another reported in 2009 that the drug interdiction specialist had received a tongue-lashing from five top Interior Ministry officers at a meeting to discuss an alleged U.S. Coast Guard violation of Cuban waters during the emergency assistance of a U.S.-registered sailboat.

I understand the focus of your post is to show the impact in Venezuela of the info leaked to The Herald. That and the fact that some journals are resonating with the leaks. Fair enough.

Why do you say so? Because differently from The New York Times, El Nuevo Herald gives space the WL cables and info? The complicity of El Nuevo with Miami-Cuban-American right wing's violence and corruption comes from much before McClatchy bought El Nuevo Herald in 2006. And I have to admit that it was really disappointing when they (El Herald) kept silence last year before a letter we sent protesting the presence of Orlando Bosch at the University of Miami premises. However, if for whatever reason they are paying attention to WL info now, I also have to admit that that is a positive move.

Sorry but El Nuevo Herald is not a reliable source. I am not pro-Chavez but after living in Miami for a while, I discard the news disclosed by that "newspaper". :) Maybe you guys are giving them a chance to change but it seems they are using the leaks to back up their narrow agenda.
Perhaps they will just take their marbles and go home...??

At any rate the very odd suit by AIG has about the chance of a snowball in hell of ever being paid. Unless there is an indirect transfer from the treasury??
